Ananya Lohia , Mumbai - Actor Kartik Aaryan has donated Rs 1 crore to the Assam Chief Minister's Relief Fund to support flood relief efforts, as the state continues to grapple with one of its worst flood crises of the year.
The Assam Chief Minister's Office and Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma thanked the actor for his generous contribution, calling it a timely gesture that will help those affected. Earlier, Salman Khan also launched a relief campaign through his NGO, Being Human, while Bhumi Pednekar and Alia Bhatt appealed for support through social media.
The flood situation remains critical, with the death toll rising to 80 and over 2.12 lakh people still affected across Charaideo, Golaghat, Jorhat and Sivasagar districts. Relief and rescue operations are being carried out by the Army, NDRF, SDRF, police and other agencies, with more than 75,000 displaced people staying in relief camps.
As Assam battles widespread devastation, contributions from celebrities and ongoing rescue operations continue to provide support to thousands of flood-affected families.
