Ananya Lohia , Delhi - The India Meteorological Department has issued heavy rainfall and landslide warnings for several districts of Himachal Pradesh as the southwest monsoon is expected to remain active over the coming days.

The IMD has warned of possible landslides, mudslides and rising water levels in Kangra, Kinnaur, Kullu, Mandi, Shimla and Sirmaur districts. Authorities have advised residents and tourists to stay away from vulnerable areas and water bodies as continuous rainfall may trigger dangerous conditions. The Meteorological Centre in Himachal Pradesh said heavy rain is likely at isolated places over the next five to seven days, particularly in the hill districts, while moderate rainfall is expected across the rest of the state.

Officials have urged people travelling through hilly regions to remain cautious and follow weather advisories. The active monsoon spell is expected to continue until around July 13 and 14, with rain-related risks likely to persist during this period.

Authorities have appealed to residents and tourists to remain vigilant, avoid unnecessary travel in vulnerable areas and strictly follow official advisories as heavy rainfall continues across Himachal Pradesh.
