After the match, Rishabh Pant struggled to articulate his disappointment, acknowledging that his team was around 10–15 runs short on what he described as a “220–230 wicket.” Despite the defeat, Pant refrained from criticising his bowlers, stating that they had performed well in previous matches and should not be blamed for a single off day.
The loss further dents Lucknow’s playoff hopes. Even if they win all their remaining fixtures, the team can only reach a maximum of 14 points, leaving their qualification chances hanging by a thread. Pant’s own form remains a concern, with the captain yet to play a defining innings this season. He has scored 204 runs so far, failing to make a significant impact in crucial moments.
With six consecutive defeats and mounting pressure, Lucknow Super Giants now find themselves on the brink of elimination. While Pant has backed his team and avoided placing blame, the road ahead looks increasingly difficult as the tournament enters its decisive phase.
