The horror- comedy, starring Akshay Kumar, has been a massive box office, success, crossing major milestone globally.
Taking to Instagram, Ekta Kapoor shared a series of selfies with Priyadarshan and penned a long note praising his work ethic and vision. She revealed that despite both being strong personalities, their collaboration was built on deep mutual respect. Ekta highlighted a key moment that left a lasting impression on her. She recalled how Priyadarshan prioritized the producer's financial success, saying he does not take on projects unless the producer benefits. She described this belief system as rare in the industry and expressed confidence that both the film and her company were in safe hands under his direction. She also admitted that while they had disagreements during the filmmaking process, they were always handled respectfully. Ekta emphasized that she trusted Priyadarshan's leadership, adding that a director ultimately guide the film's journey.
Bhooth Bangla marks the reunion of Priyadarshan and Akshay Kumar after more than a decade. The duo has previously delivered popular films like Bhool Bhulaiyaa, Bhagam Bhag, and Hera Pheri. The film also features Tabu, Wamiqa Gabbi, Paresh Rawal, Rajpal Yadav and Mithila Palkar in key roles. Despite receiving mixed reviews from critics, the film resonated strongly with audiences. It went on to earn over 231 crore worldwide and more than 150 crore domestically. With this success, Akshay Kumar achieved another milestone, becoming the only Indian actor to have 20 films in the 100 crore club.
