News Desk : The makers of Eetha have released the first teaser of the much-awaited biographical drama starring Shraddha Kapoor in the lead role. Directed by Laxman Utekar, the film is based on the life of legendary Maharashtrian Tamasha and Lavani artist Vithabai Bhau Mang Narayangaonkar. The teaser has already created a buzz online, with fans praising Shraddha's powerful screen presence and emotional performance.

The teaser opens with crowds eagerly waiting for Vithabai's performance and repeatedly asking, “Where is Eetha? We’ve come to watch her perform.” Backstage, however, Vithabai is shown in labour, enduring immense pain while preparations for the show continue around her. In a dramatic sequence, she gives birth backstage but refuses to let that stop her from performing. Even after being warned that dancing could cost her life, she boldly responds, “Padi padi mari toh bechari kehlaungi, naachte hue mari toh misaal ban jaaungi,” reflecting her unwavering dedication to her art.

The teaser then offers glimpses of Vithabai’s journey through vibrant Lavani performances, emotional moments and the challenges she faced throughout her career. Fans have been quick to shower praise on Shraddha Kapoor. Several social media users called the teaser one of the strongest first looks of the year, with many predicting a National Award-worthy performance.

Produced by Dinesh Vijan under the Maddock Films banner, Eetha also stars Randeep Hooda and Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub in key roles. The film is expected to chronicle Vithabai’s remarkable journey from the 1940s to the 1990s while celebrating Maharashtra’s rich Tamasha and Lavani heritage. Eetha is slated to release in theatres on August 28 during the Raksha Bandhan festive weekend.
