Bollywood actress Sara Ali Khan recently shared her heartfelt views on identity and festivity during Ganesh Chaturthi 2025, declaring, "I simply believe I’m an Indian". Born to an interfaith couple, Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh, Sara embraces both Hindu and Muslim traditions, highlighting that being Indian means celebrating a diverse array of festivals.
"Whatever my spiritual beliefs may be, at the core of it, there’s a very strong pulse of just being Indian," she told Hindustan Times. She emphasised celebrating Eid, Ganesh Chaturthi, and Christmas, believing these festivals foster empathy and allow for communal celebration, which she deems crucial in today's world.
For Sara, Ganesh Chaturthi "truly rekindles a sense of communal spirit," bringing everyone together to pray and hope for auspicious beginnings for all. She noted how "Mumbai lights up differently" with "laughter, joy, aartis, and pandals on every road," spreading a spirit of festivity.
