Desk Correspondent , Dharamsala - Delhi Capitals refused to let their IPL 2026 campaign die without a fight. Delhi Capitals pulled off a stunning chase against Punjab Kings in the freezing Dharamsala night, and the heroes were two of their most criticised stars -Axar Patel and David Miller.
Chasing a daunting 211 in 13-degree conditions, DC looked completely out of the contest after losing their top order inside the powerplay. But Axar walked in with fearless intent, smashing 56 off just 30 balls and injecting life into a dead chase. When Axar departed, Miller who has been dropped from the XI in DC’s last three matches — took over in brutal fashion. The South African finisher blasted 51 off 28 balls, tearing into Marco Jansen and Ben Dwarshuis to swing the momentum dramatically in Delhi’s favour.
Despite the pressure, neither Axar nor Miller looked rattled. They batted with the belief and aggression of champions, refusing to surrender even when the equation looked impossible. Their counterattack completely stunned Punjab Kings and reignited Delhi’s fading playoff hopes.
The lower order also delivered their best under pressure. Ashutosh Sharma, Madhav Tiwari and Auqib Nabi chipped in with vital cameos to complete a famous win with six balls to spare. Tiwari also impressed with the ball earlier in the game, while Nabi made a memorable return to the playing XI. For a team heavily criticised in recent weeks, this victory felt like a statement. If Delhi Capitals somehow script a playoff qualification from here.
