Pakistan – The blasts in Pakistan paramilitary headquarters in Peshawar killed three and injured four men in the morning today. Several Pakistani residents posted on X about the sound of back to back blasts heard from the FC headquarters today. The two blasts reported on social media were confirmed by Pakistani officials as suicide bombers
According to Peshawar police chief Mian Saeed, the three men killed were the FC (Federal Constabulary) personnel deployed at the gate. He further said that four others were injured. One assailant detonated explosives and two other attackers were shot dead by the security forces, said the police chief. "Two suicide explosions took place inside the FC headquarters, one at the main gate and the other near the motorcycle stand located within the premises," Inspector General of Police Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Zulfiqar Hameed appraised a source.
The blast noises triggered widespread panic among the residents. People began posting videos online where the blasts were heard. In several videos online, active firing could also be heard. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi denounced the terrorist attack, stating that the provincial government "stands firmly" with the police and all law enforcement agencies.
The road outside the FC headquarters in Peshawar has been closed and the area has been cordoned off.
