Ananya Lohia , Mumbai - The trailer of Alia Bhatt's upcoming spy thriller Alpha was unveiled on Wednesday, drawing excitement from fans while also triggering online discussions over its similarities to several popular films and web series.

Soon after the trailer's release, social media users pointed out scenes they felt resembled moments from other productions. A sequence showing Bobby Deol's character monitoring a child named Sita inside a cage drew comparisons to Homelander's origin story in the TV series The Boys. Another scene featuring Alia Bhatt attacking Bobby Deol's character was likened by some users to Arya Stark's confrontation with the Night King in Game of Thrones. Earlier, the film's teaser had also been compared by viewers to La Femme Nikita and American Sniper.

Directed by Shiv Rawail, Alpha offers a glimpse into Alia's character's journey as a spy under the mentorship of Bobby Deol's character. The trailer also features Anil Kapoor and Sharvari, while a brief appearance by Hrithik Roshan as Kabir from the YRF Spy Universe has emerged as a major talking point among fans. The film, which shares its universe with Pathaan, War and the Tiger franchise, is scheduled to release on July 3.

Alpha marks Alia Bhatt's first release since Jigra in 2024 and her only film of the year. She will next be seen in Love & War alongside Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal.
