Ananya Lohia , Delhi - Teenage batting sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi made history on Saturday by becoming the youngest cricketer to represent India in international cricket, making his senior debut in the second T20I against England at Old Trafford.

At just 15 years and 99 days, Sooryavanshi surpassed the long-standing record held by Sachin Tendulkar and also became India's youngest men's T20I debutant. India captain Shreyas Iyer confirmed at the toss that the young opener replaced Sanju Samson in the playing XI. Sooryavanshi earned his maiden international cap after two remarkable IPL seasons with Rajasthan Royals, where he became the youngest centurion in men's T20 cricket and later won the Orange Cap in IPL 2026 with 776 runs, including a record 72 sixes in a single season.

After months of anticipation, the Bihar-born left-hander has finally stepped onto the international stage. His debut marks the beginning of one of Indian cricket's most eagerly watched careers, with fans hoping the teenage prodigy can replicate his explosive domestic form for the national team.
