A grandmother in China has come under fire after allegedly spending her grandson’s college tuition money on cosmetic procedures instead of setting it aside for his education.
According to reports, the woman used around $8,600, which was meant to cover her grandson’s school fees, to undergo wrinkle removal treatments. She reportedly justified her decision by saying she wanted to look younger in order to stop her husband from losing interest in her.
The revelation sparked outrage within the family, leaving the grandson shocked and disappointed. Relatives claimed that the money had been saved specifically to support his education, but the grandmother diverted the funds without informing him.
Family members are now divided, with some expressing sympathy for her insecurities, while others believe she acted irresponsibly by putting her own concerns before her grandson’s future.
The incident, which took place in China, has quickly spread on social media, with many users criticizing the grandmother’s decision and highlighting the pressure some women feel to maintain their appearance at any cost.
While the grandson’s academic plans remain uncertain, the situation has raised broader questions about priorities, family responsibility, and the influence of social expectations around aging.
