Swapna Kumbar , Bengaluru - Iran’s Revolutionary Guards have claimed new strikes on targets in Oman and Bahrain, saying they destroyed radar systems in Oman and hit U.S. military facilities on the southern edge of Manama. The fresh attacks come amid a widening conflict in the Gulf that has already seen repeated U.S. strikes on Iranian targets and retaliatory Iranian attacks on regional bases and shipping.

According to reports, the IRGC said the Oman strike targeted radar systems, while the Bahrain attack was aimed at U.S. military facilities near Manama. Other coverage of the broader conflict says Iran has previously launched missiles and drones at U.S. and allied sites in Bahrain, Kuwait and Qatar after American strikes on Iranian military positions. That pattern suggests the fighting is no longer confined to the Strait of Hormuz, but is spreading across multiple Gulf states.

The escalation is closely tied to maritime security in and around Hormuz, where attacks on commercial vessels have repeatedly triggered retaliation. Iran has also insisted that ships follow routes designated by Tehran, while Gulf states and the U.S. accuse it of endangering civilian shipping and regional stability. Oman and Bahrain have both been drawn into the crisis because of their strategic locations and their links to international shipping and U.S. military presence.

The new claims by the IRGC show the West Asia conflict is widening further, with Oman and Bahrain now pulled directly into the exchange. With shipping threats, U.S. strikes and Iranian retaliation all continuing, the risk of a broader regional war remains high.
