Swapna Kumbar , Bengaluru - A massive fire tore through the Na Ladprao pub in Bangkok, killing at least 27 people and injuring 63, Thai authorities said. Footage shared by first responders showed flames raging through the venue as patrons tried to flee.

The blaze broke out around midnight in the northern part of the city and spread quickly through the crowded entertainment venue. Officials said many victims were trapped inside, with several found in restrooms at the back of the pub after smoke filled the building. Firefighters brought the fire under control in about 30 minutes, but the damage was already severe.
Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul visited the site and confirmed the death toll, while investigators began examining how the fire spread so rapidly. Reports suggested a possible electrical fault near the stage area, followed by a power outage and an explosion, though the cause has not yet been officially determined.

Emergency teams also treated many people for smoke inhalation and serious burns.
The tragedy has renewed concerns about fire safety standards at entertainment venues in Thailand. With dozens dead and many others injured, authorities are now focused on identifying the victims and determining whether safety exits and emergency procedures were adequate.

The Bangkok pub fire has become one of the city’s deadliest entertainment-venue disasters in recent years. The immediate priority is rescue, treatment and investigation, but the longer-term issue is whether better safety enforcement could have reduced the toll.
