Ananya Lohia , Delhi - Veteran actor Zeenat Aman has appealed to the Centre to initiate dialogue with climate activist Sonam Wangchuk, whose indefinite hunger strike at Delhi's Jantar Mantar entered its 17th day amid growing concerns over his deteriorating health.

Sharing a post on social media, Zeenat Aman praised Wangchuk's contributions to education and environmental conservation, urging the government to engage in peaceful dialogue before it is too late. She said India must not remain a silent spectator while one of its "greatest minds" continues to suffer.

Wangchuk, protesting alongside the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) over alleged NEET examination irregularities, has reportedly lost over 8 kilograms and is experiencing muscle loss and severe weakness. Several public figures, including Arundhati Roy, Naseeruddin Shah and Ratna Pathak Shah, have also appealed to him to end his fast while extending support to his cause.

As Sonam Wangchuk's health continues to decline, calls for dialogue with the government are growing louder, with supporters urging a peaceful resolution to the ongoing protest.
