Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has unveiled development schemes worth Rs 30000 crore aimed at transforming the Braj region, which includes Mathura and Vrindavan. The announcement came as thousands of devotees gathered in the holy towns to celebrate Janmashtami.
The projects are focused on improving infrastructure, boosting tourism, and preserving the cultural heritage of the region. Plans include better roads, improved public facilities, beautification drives, and enhanced connectivity to support the growing number of pilgrims and visitors.
The Chief Minister said the government is committed to making Braj a global spiritual and cultural hub while ensuring the traditions and heritage of the region remain intact. He also stressed that the projects would create employment opportunities and benefit the local economy.
The festivities of Janmashtami added to the spiritual atmosphere in Mathura and Vrindavan, with devotees thronging temples, participating in religious processions, and offering prayers. Authorities made elaborate arrangements for security and crowd management to ensure smooth celebrations.
