“Won’t Contest Bihar Polls, Party Has Decided,” Announces Prashant Kishor

Jan Suraaj Party founder Pragya strategist Prashant Kishor on Wednesday declared he will not contest the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections in November, stating that the decision was made in the interest of the party.

He told PTI that contesting would divert him from essential organizational work, and hence the party opted to field another candidate.  From the notable Raghopur seat — where speculation had built about a face-off with RJD’s Tejashwi Yadav — Jan Suraaj has instead nominated local businessman Chanchal Singh.

Kishor expressed confidence in the party’s prospects in Bihar. He predicted a binary outcome: either fewer than 10 seats or more than 150, with no middle ground.  He also addressed concerns about a hung assembly, dismissing the possibility and stating that anything below 150 seats would amount to a setback.
