Ananya Lohia , Mumbai - Akshay Kumar's Welcome To The Jungle has registered a strong opening at the box office, collecting ₹29.30 crore worldwide on its first day. Directed by Ahmed Khan, the comedy-action entertainer has emerged as the third-biggest Bollywood opener of the year.

According to Sacnilk, the film earned ₹15.25 crore net in India on Friday. Including ₹3.75 crore from paid previews, its total India net collection stands at ₹19 crore, while the India gross collection has reached ₹22.80 crore. The film also grossed ₹6.50 crore overseas, taking its worldwide total to ₹29.30 crore. With this, Welcome To The Jungle has surpassed the opening-day worldwide collections of Cocktail 2 (₹23.45 crore) and Akshay Kumar's Bhooth Bangla (₹28.70 crore). The film now ranks as the third-biggest Hindi opener of the year, behind Border 2 and Dhurandhar: The Revenge.

Featuring a massive ensemble cast including Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty, Paresh Rawal, Arshad Warsi, Disha Patani and Jacqueline Fernandez, the third instalment of the Welcome franchise has also received positive reviews. The film will now look to capitalize on the weekend and strengthen its box-office run.
