Ananya Lohia , Ayodhya - The alleged Ram Mandir donation embezzlement case has taken a fresh political turn after Vishwa Hindu Parishad International President Alok Kumar urged Ayodhya Police to question senior opposition leaders over their public allegations linked to the case.
In a letter to the investigating officer, Kumar requested that Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal, AAP MP Sanjay Singh and Samajwadi Party MP Ram Gopal Yadav be summoned to record their statements. He argued that since the leaders publicly cited figures and made specific allegations, they should be asked to present the evidence supporting their claims as part of a fair and impartial investigation.
Kumar further stated that if the allegations cannot be backed with credible evidence, appropriate legal action should be considered. The VHP maintains that verifying these statements is essential to ensure transparency in the ongoing probe.
Responding to the demand, AAP MP Sanjay Singh welcomed the move but questioned why other individuals who had also raised concerns over alleged irregularities in the Ram Temple trust were not included. Meanwhile, the Special Investigation Team has continued its inquiry, with the Uttar Pradesh government extending its investigation by another 15 days to conduct a comprehensive probe into the matter.
