Ananya Lohia , Mumbai - Veteran actor Ramakant Dayama, known for his memorable performances in films like Chak De! India, Crew and Paa, passed away on Tuesday, May 26, at the age of 69 following a prolonged illness. He was also widely recognised for his work in acclaimed web series including Made in Heaven, Farzi and Scam 1992: The Harshad Mehta Story. Ramakant was the father of actor Yashaswini Dayama, known for projects like Adulting, Delhi Crime and Bandish Bandits.
Actor Shubhangi Sanjeev Latkar shared the heartbreaking news on social media with an emotional tribute. Remembering him as a lively and courageous person, she described him as a spontaneous dancer, soulful singer and brilliant actor who continued to enjoy life despite health challenges. She also recalled their unfinished plans of working together on a Hindi play and poetry presentation.
The Cine and TV Artistes’ Association (CINTAA) also mourned his demise, remembering his contribution to the artist community and praising his warmth, integrity and dedication. Ramakant Dayama was last seen in The Trial starring Kajol. He will always be remembered by Hindi cinema for his recommendable work and his contribution for Bollywood industry.
