Shivani Jaiswal, Uttar Pradesh-
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has instructed officials to introduce patriotic songs and devotional bhajans at toll plazas across the state. The decision is part of an effort to create a calm and positive environment for travelers while encouraging a sense of national pride and cultural connection during journeys.
According to officials, selected songs highlighting patriotism, Indian heritage, and spiritual values will be played through the public announcement systems installed at toll booths. The administration believes that music with inspirational and devotional themes can improve the travel experience for commuters and reduce stress during long road trips.
The move is also being seen as an attempt to promote Indian traditions and strengthen cultural awareness in public spaces. Authorities have been asked to ensure that the audio remains balanced and does not disturb passengers or toll operations. The initiative is expected to begin in phases at major toll plazas before expanding to other routes across Uttar Pradesh.
