Desk Correspondent , New Delhi – United States President Donald Trump has praised Indian’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi, declaring that the two leaders “get things done” and promises to further strengthen the “amazing” relationship with India. The admiration came amid escalating tensions in West Asia, just days after the two leaders held a telephone conversation on the regional crisis.
A statement was posted on X (formerly Twitter) by the US Embassy in India on Friday, accompanied by a photograph of Trump and Modi. “Our amazing relationship with India will be even stronger going forward. Prime Minister Modi and I are two people that get things done, something that cannot be said for most,” Trump was quoted as saying. The remarks follow Modi’s March 24 disclosure that he received a call from Trump and held a “useful exchange of views” on the West Asia situation. In his post, the Prime Minister emphasised India’s position as support for immediate de-escalation, restoration of peace, and ensuring the Strait of Hormuz remains “open, secure and accessible” for global trade and fuel supply flows.
The US Embassy described the Trump-Modi partnership as central to deepening strategic ties between the world’s two largest democracies. No further details of the phone call were released by either side. This development came at a time when West Asia remains tense situation, with potential disruptions to international fuel crisis and waterway security. Indian officials has yet comment on the US Embassy post, but the timing emphasize the growing relation between Washington and New Delhi on regional stability issues.
