Ranit Kr. Singh , Jaipur - Two minor sisters, aged eight and five, died of suffocation on Wednesday after accidentally getting trapped inside a parked car at a vehicle service centre in Alwar, Rajasthan. The tragic incident occurred during an intense heatwave in North India, with local temperatures hovering around 43 degrees Celsius. The victims, identified as Tina and Lakshmi, had gone out to play near their Khudanpuri residence when they climbed inside the vehicle, which rapidly transformed into a lethal heat chamber due to the scorching external atmosphere.

The family and neighbours launched a search after the girls went missing for an extended period, ultimately discovering them unconscious inside the car after approximately 30 minutes of entrapment. Although the children were rushed immediately to a nearby hospital, doctors declared them dead on arrival. Local police have shifted the bodies to the district hospital mortuary, initiated an investigation, and reviewed online CCTV footage that purportedly confirms the sisters entered the vehicle on their own while playing.

The tragedy has devastated the local community and their father, Ramesh, a single parent who had been raising his daughters alone since their mother passed away four years ago. Relatives noted that the two young sisters were their father's sole emotional support system following his wife's death. Emphasizing the heartbreaking nature of the incident, Vaishali Nagar Station House Officer Gurudutt Sharma stated, "They were immediately taken out, but by then both children had died due to suffocation."
