Desk Correspondent , New Delhi – The Delhi police catches two perpetrators after a shootout on Tuesday. The perpetrators are accused of stabbing and multiple knife attacks in the southwest Delhi’s Dabri area. The main accused, Noddy and Himanshu aliases used by Rohit Kumar and Prem Sharma were shot in the leg after they attacked the police team in Dwarka Sector 17 and Najafgarh. Pistols, cartridges, and stolen vehicles were recovered from them.
According to the DCP of Delhi Police Kushal Pal Singh’s statement to the media he said, “In the first incident, reported at 9:23 pm near Durga Mata Mandir in Madhu Vihar, 39-year-old Govind Jha, a food delivery agent, was stabbed to death after he asked the accused for directions.” A few minutes after the incident another attack was reported near Nav Jeevan School in the same area, three victims identified as Honey, Rohit and Anish were also stabbed and are in critical condition. In just 15 minutes the perpetrators recked havoc in southwest Delhi.
DCP Kushal Pal Singh said both the suspects were identified through specific inputs and caught within 24 hours. Both the accused are registered criminals with Rohit recently released from jail and Prem was involved in a kidnapping case. Unfortunately, Govind Jha the first victim succumbed to his injuries and was declared dead at the hospital. Police ruled out any possibility of communal angle in this incident. No further reports have been given by the police, with the investigation still ongoing.
