Des Correspondent , Chennai — The ruling Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) on Wednesday formally requested its alliance partners, including the Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK) and the Indian Union Muslim League (IUML), to join the state cabinet. Speaking to reporters, TVK General Secretary and Minister for Public Works Department (PWD) and Sports Development, Aadhav Arjuna, stated that it is the explicit intention of Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay to form an inclusive government with leaders operating on the ideals of secularism and social justice. The open invitation also extends to other coalition allies like the Congress, as the administration seeks a collaborative, family-like cabinet structure.
According to Arjuna, the Left parties have already decided to provide outside support to the government, a move the ruling party respects while remaining firm on its secular policy. He specifically highlighted that VCK chief Thol Thirumavalavan and leaders from the IUML have been humbly requested to take up ministerial portfolios. Chief Minister Vijay is expected to make a formal announcement regarding the breakdown of legislators joining the inner circle once the respective parties conclude their internal meetings and report back their executive decisions.
The political outreach emphasizes the newly formed government's commitment to consolidating a united front focused on social justice. Alliance parties are currently holding deliberations to finalize their stances on the cabinet positions. Expressing strong optimism about the coalition's response, Arjuna added that the ruling administration expects "good news" regarding these cabinet expansions very soon.
