Swapna Kumbar , Bengaluru - U.S. President Donald Trump has unveiled a special edition of the American passport that features his portrait, making him the first sitting president to appear in Americans’ travel documents. The commemorative design is being released to mark the 250th anniversary of American independence and is part of the administration’s “America250” celebrations.

According to the State Department, the limited-edition passport includes Trump’s image and signature on an inside page, with the text of the Declaration of Independence and a stylized patriotic design in the background. The cover also carries a modified gold theme, including an American flag motif and “250” markings to signal the semiquincentennial. Officials said the commemorative passport will be issued through the Washington Passport Agency starting in July and will be available only in limited numbers while supplies last.

The administration has framed the redesign as part of a broader patriotic rollout for America’s 250th anniversary. White House and State Department officials said applicants who go through the Washington Passport Agency will receive the special design during the rollout period, while standard passports remain available through other channels. The redesign has drawn attention because it places a living president inside the country’s official travel document for the first time.
