Swapna Kumbar , Bengaluru - President Donald Trump said he does not “think it’s time yet” for a deal with Iran, even as negotiations remain ongoing. His remarks suggest Washington is keeping diplomatic channels open without committing to a final agreement.

The comment comes after weeks of heightened military pressure and repeated U.S. strikes on Iranian targets tied to shipping and regional security. For the first time in two weeks, however, the U.S. military did not announce a fresh round of strikes on Iran, which may indicate a brief pause in the escalation. That pause does not mean the crisis is over. It more likely reflects an attempt to keep both military pressure and negotiations moving in parallel, while the two sides test whether a deal is still possible.

Trump’s message is that diplomacy is still alive, but not ready to close. With strikes paused for now and talks continuing, the next few days will be critical in showing whether this is the start of de-escalation or just a temporary break.
