Telangana Chief Minister has directed government school teachers to share midday meals with students as part of an effort to improve bonding and ensure better monitoring of food quality in schools.

The move is aimed at strengthening the trust between teachers and students, while also ensuring that the meals provided under the midday meal scheme are nutritious and hygienic. Officials believe that when teachers eat with students, it will encourage children to feel more comfortable, attend school regularly, and develop healthier eating habits.

The Chief Minister stressed that education is not limited to classroom learning but also involves creating an inclusive and caring environment. Sharing meals, he said, would help reduce barriers between teachers and students, particularly in rural areas where schools often serve as the center of community life.

The directive has been welcomed by several educationists and parent groups, who see it as a positive step toward improving the learning atmosphere. However, some teachers have expressed concerns about logistics, pointing out that proper seating arrangements and time management will be necessary for smooth implementation.

The state government is expected to issue detailed guidelines soon to ensure the initiative is rolled out effectively across schools.
