India captain Suryakumar Yadav has responded for the first time following the controversial episode in which his team was denied the Asia Cup trophy, while Mohsin Naqvi walked away with it.
At the press conference, he expressed his shock and disappointment, saying such a situation was unprecedented in his career. “I’ve never seen that a champion team is denied a trophy… We deserve it,” he said, emphasizing that India’s victory was hard earned. He also pointed out that while the trophy eluded them, the real rewards—teamwork, memories, and the journey are in their dressing room. “My trophies are sitting in my dressing room. All 14 guys are with me. Those are the real trophies,” he added.
