Passengers travelling through Srinagar Airport may face disruptions in the coming months as the airport is set to remain closed twice every week for runway repair and maintenance work.

The Airports Authority of India (AAI) has announced that flight operations at Srinagar Airport will be suspended on Mondays and Tuesdays from July to September. The temporary closures are being carried out to complete important runway repair work aimed at improving airport infrastructure and ensuring safer flight operations.

During the closure period, no commercial flights will take off or land at the airport on the designated days. Airlines are expected to adjust their schedules accordingly and inform passengers about any changes to their travel plans.

Airport authorities have advised travellers to check the status of their flights before heading to the airport. Passengers who have already booked tickets for the affected days are encouraged to contact their airlines for updated schedules, rebooking options, or other travel arrangements.

The runway maintenance project is considered necessary to maintain operational safety and improve the overall efficiency of the airport. Officials have said that every effort will be made to complete the work within the planned timeline and minimize inconvenience to passengers.

Srinagar Airport is one of the busiest airports in Jammu and Kashmir and serves thousands of passengers every day. The temporary shutdown is expected to affect flight schedules during the three-month period, and travellers are advised to plan their journeys accordingly.
