Ananya Lohia , Dambulla - Teen sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi produced a breathtaking display of power-hitting in the tri-series final against Sri Lanka A in Dambulla on Sunday, smashing 94 runs off just 29 balls and rewriting record books in the process.

After Sri Lanka A elected to bowl first, the 15-year-old Bihar batter launched a stunning assault on the bowlers from the very first over. Sooryavanshi raced to a half-century in just 11 balls, setting a new List A record for the fastest fifty. The youngster continued his onslaught, striking 10 fours and eight sixes before falling for 94. He narrowly missed a century and a chance to equal the record for the fastest List A hundred, currently held by Jake Fraser-McGurk, who reached the milestone in 29 balls.

The innings came at a crucial time for Sooryavanshi, who had struggled for runs in his previous four outings and faced questions over his readiness for international cricket. The knock also followed a heated encounter between India A and Sri Lanka A earlier in the tournament, where tensions flared after Sri Lanka A's Super Over victory.
