Sonam Wangchuk Discharged From Hospital

Ananya Lohia , New Delhi - Activist Sonam Wangchuk was discharged from Medanta Hospital in Gurugram on Monday after six days of treatment. He said his health is improving and that he will return to Ladakh after paying tribute to Mahatma Gandhi at Rajghat.

According to reports, Wangchuk said he was feeling much better and slowly regaining strength. He also thanked people who joined the CJP-led students' protest at Jantar Mantar over the NEET paper leak. Medanta Hospital confirmed that Wangchuk was discharged in a stable condition, with Medical Superintendent Dr. Sanjay Durani stating that his vital signs were normal and that he had been advised routine outpatient follow-up.

Wangchuk was admitted to Medanta on July 21, following his transfer from Safdarjung Hospital, where he had been treated for three days after being removed from the Jantar Mantar protest site on July 18. He had led a 26-day hunger strike demanding the resignation of former Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and reforms in the education system over the NEET paper leak. Wangchuk ended his fast on July 24, a day before Pradhan stepped down from the post.

With his health improving, Wangchuk is set to return to Ladakh after visiting Rajghat, while his campaign for education reforms continues to draw national attention.
