Mumbai — Actor and singer Shehbaz Badesha, popularly known as the brother of Shehnaaz Gill, has responded to social media trolls who claimed he entered Bigg Boss 19 only because of his sister’s popularity.
In a recent statement, Badesha dismissed the criticism, stressing that his selection was a result of his own efforts. “Agar maine 6-7 dhakke naa khaye hote, maine yeh show nahi kiya hota,” he said, pointing out that his personal struggles and persistence earned him the opportunity to be part of the reality series.
Badesha further highlighted that while Shehnaaz Gill’s fame brought him recognition, it was unfair to overlook his own journey. “Shehnaaz ki wajah se log mujhe pehchaante hain, lekin iska matlab yeh nahi ki main kaam nahi karta,” he added.
The 31-year-old has previously appeared in music videos and television shows, slowly building his identity in the entertainment industry. With Bigg Boss 19, he aims to showcase his personality and talent to a wider audience.
Meanwhile, fans of Shehnaaz Gill expressed mixed reactions. While many defended Badesha, saying he deserves a fair chance, others continued to link his entry to his sister’s influence.
Industry insiders believe Badesha’s presence on the show will not only strengthen his individual brand but also keep him in the spotlight at a time when celebrity family connections often shape public perception.
