Ananya Lohia , Mumbai - Comedian Samay Raina has officially confirmed that shooting for the second season of India’s Got Latent is currently underway. The update comes months after the controversial backlash that forced the popular YouTube comedy show to be taken down last year.

On Thursday, Samay took to Instagram to announce the return of his favourite chess tournament “for old times’ sake”. However, fans quickly flooded his DMs asking for an update on India’s Got Latent Season 2. Responding with humour, the comedian shared a meme from his stand-up special Still Alive before finally dropping a major reveal. Sharing a behind-the-scenes photo from the sets, Samay wrote, “Uski bhi shooting chal rahi hai dostoooo.” The image featured Samay holding a microphone, while comedian Balraj Ghai stood behind him. The faces of the remaining panelists were intentionally hidden, although comedian Aashish Solanki appeared partially visible in the frame.
Earlier this month, a leaked picture allegedly from the sets had already gone viral online. The image reportedly showed actors Alia Bhatt and Sharvari seated on the panel alongside Balraj Ghai and Aashish Solanki, sparking speculation about celebrity guest appearances in the upcoming season. However, neither the actors nor the makers have officially confirmed the reports. The show had landed in controversy in February 2025 after podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia made controversial remarks during an episode featuring creators Ashish Chanchlani and Apoorva Mukhija. The backlash led to multiple FIRs being filed against the creators and the show, following which Samay removed all episodes from YouTube.
Despite the earlier controversy, Samay’s latest update has reignited excitement among fans eagerly waiting for the return of India’s Got Latent. With shooting now officially in progress, anticipation around Season 2 continues to grow rapidly online.
