Desk Correspondent , Mumbai - Raja Shivaji continues its impressive box office march as Riteish Deshmukh’s historical drama crossed the ₹75 crore mark on Day 13. Despite the expected weekday slowdown in its second week, the film has maintained a steady hold at the ticket windows, emerging as one of the strongest-performing Marathi films of the year.
According to Sacnilk, Raja Shivaji collected ₹1.90 crore on its second Wednesday, taking its total domestic net collection to ₹75.05 crore. Released on May 1, the historical drama opened strongly with ₹11.35 crore and maintained an impressive run through its first weekend, eventually closing Week 1 with ₹52.65 crore. Though the film witnessed an expected slowdown during weekdays in its second week, it showed steady hold at the box office, including a boost on its second Sunday with ₹6.80 crore. The film has performed exceptionally well in the Marathi market, clearly outshining its Hindi version.
Directed and co-written by Riteish Deshmukh, the film is based on the life and legacy of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Produced by Genelia D'Souza and Jyoti Deshpande under Mumbai Film Company and Jio Studios, the film features an ensemble cast including Sanjay Dutt, Abhishek Bachchan, Mahesh Manjrekar, Bhagyashree and Fardeen Khan. One of the major highlights for audiences has been Salman Khan’s special appearance, which has been receiving strong reactions in theatres. The film also marks the acting debut of Riteish and Genelia’s son, Rahyl.

With ₹75 crore already in the bag and strong audience support continuing in the Marathi market, Raja Shivaji has emerged as both a commercial success and a significant cultural moment. Even as the second-week slowdown begins to show, the film’s steady theatrical run proves that grand historical dramas backed by emotional storytelling still hold powerful appeal at the box office.
