Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has cautioned Pakistan against any misadventure in the strategically sensitive Sir Creek area, stating that such actions would provoke a response capable of altering both history and geography.
Addressing a public gathering on the occasion of 'Shashtra Pujan', Singh criticized Pakistan for reigniting the long-standing border dispute in the Sir Creek region, a 96-kilometer marshy strip in the Rann of Kutch. He highlighted the recent expansion of Pakistani military infrastructure near the area, suggesting that Pakistan's intentions remain unclear despite India's consistent efforts to resolve the issue through dialogue.
Singh emphasized that the Indian Army and Border Security Force (BSF) are jointly safeguarding the nation's borders and are prepared to respond decisively to any provocation. He reminded Pakistan that one route to Karachi passes through the creek, underscoring the strategic significance of the region.
