R Madhavan Breaks Silence Backs Students Over NEET Row

Ananya Lohia , Mumbai - Actor and FTII chairman R Madhavan has broken his silence on the alleged NEET paper leak and the ongoing student protests, expressing solidarity with students and calling for strict action against those responsible.

In a statement shared on Instagram, Madhavan said examination paper leaks destroy the trust of students and parents and put the future of countless young people at risk. He urged the government to bring those responsible to justice swiftly and strengthen the education system to prevent such incidents from happening again. He also said he believed the government would take the necessary corrective measures to restore confidence in the system.

The actor praised students who were peacefully demanding reforms, saying he admired their determination and commitment. However, he also cautioned them to remain alert against vested interests that could hijack the movement for political or personal gain. His remarks came a day after FTII students mocked his silence by putting up "Gayab" and "NEET for Sale" posters outside his office, following the CJP-led protests over the alleged examination irregularities.

Madhavan's first public response has added another prominent voice to the debate, backing students' concerns while urging accountability, reforms, and peaceful protest.
