Swapna Kumbar , Bengaluru - The President of India has assigned Pralhad Joshi the additional charge of the Ministry of Education, following Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation. The appointment was made on the advice of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and comes amid continued pressure over exam leaks and education reforms.

According to the official statement, Joshi will handle the Education Ministry in addition to his current portfolios. He remains Union Minister for Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, and New and Renewable Energy. Pradhan’s resignation came after weeks of protests over alleged irregularities in major entrance exams, including NEET. The change gives the government a new face in a ministry that is now at the centre of a major political and public debate.

Joshi’s appointment is a significant Cabinet move at a sensitive moment for the government. It signals an attempt to reset the handling of the education portfolio while the fallout from the exam controversy continues.
