Shivani Jaiswal, Oslo-

Indian Grandmaster R. Praggnanandhaa created history by becoming the first Indian player to win the prestigious Norway Chess title after a stunning final-round victory in Oslo.

The 20-year-old chess prodigy secured the championship with a crucial classical win over Germany's Vincent Keymer in the final round of the tournament.

Praggnanandhaa entered the final day among the title contenders and delivered under pressure when it mattered most.

His triumph capped a remarkable comeback after a difficult phase earlier in the competition. The Indian star finished strongly, registering a series of impressive victories against elite opponents.

The victory marks one of the biggest achievements of Praggnanandhaa's career and adds another milestone to India's growing influence in world chess.

Chess fans and experts across the globe hailed the achievement as a defining moment for the young Grandmaster, who continues to establish himself among the world's elite players.

With the Norway Chess crown now in Indian hands, Praggnanandhaa has further strengthened his reputation as one of the brightest talents in modern chess.
