PM Urges Citizens to Stay Hydrated Amid Rising Temperatures

Shivani Jaiswal, New Delhi-

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday appealed to citizens to take necessary precautions as heatwave conditions and high temperatures continue across several parts of the country.

Speaking during his monthly radio programme Mann Ki Baat, the Prime Minister stressed the importance of staying hydrated and avoiding unnecessary exposure to the sun during peak heat hours.

“With temperatures soaring across much of the country, it is important to take extra care. Stay hydrated. If you need to step out in the sun, do so cautiously and take necessary precautions,” he said during the broadcast.

He further advised people to regularly consume water and follow safety guidelines issued by government departments to protect themselves from heat-related illnesses. “Keep drinking water. Don’t forget the guidelines issued by various government departments in this regard either,” he added.

The Prime Minister had earlier also urged citizens during a recent address to remain cautious amid rising temperatures, reiterating that hydration and preventive care are key to dealing with extreme weather
Exposure to heat can lead to dehydration, heat exhaustion and other serious health issues, especially for vulnerable groups such as children, the elderly and outdoor workers.

Authorities across states have been issuing advisories and taking precautionary measures as parts of the country continue to experience intense summer conditions.

The appeal from the Prime Minister comes as part of ongoing public awareness efforts aimed at reducing heat-related risks and encouraging citizens to adopt simple but effective safety practices during the hot season.
