Swapna Kumbar, Bengaluru - Prime Minister Narendra Modi met Australia’s Leader of the Opposition Angus Taylor during his visit to Australia and discussed the growing bilateral relationship. The meeting highlighted bipartisan support in Australia for strengthening ties with India.

Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri said the meeting was part of the Australia leg of Modi’s three-nation tour, which began after his visit to Indonesia. The leaders discussed the broadening partnership between the two countries, including trade, investment, education, technology, defence and people-to-people links. Modi also thanked Taylor for Australia’s bipartisan support for the relationship.

The outreach reflects how India and Australia have kept their ties anchored across political lines, not just through government-to-government engagement. The visit also comes amid deeper cooperation under the India-Australia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and expanding engagement in regional and global forums.
