Pharma Companies Announce Direct-to-Consumer Sales and Price Cuts in the U.S

Several major pharmaceutical companies in the United States have initiated direct-to-consumer sales and announced significant price reductions for their medications. This move aligns with President Donald Trump's efforts to lower prescription drug costs by eliminating intermediaries such as pharmacies, insurers, and pharmacy benefit managers.

The Trump administration plans to launch a government-run website, in early 2026, aimed at offering reduced prices for prescription drugs. Currently, U.S. patients pay significantly more for prescription medicines compared to other developed nations. In July, President Trump urged 17 major pharmaceutical companies to slash U.S. drug prices.
