Swapna Kumbar , Bengaluru - A major controversy has erupted in Rajasthan’s Jaisalmer after more than 300 decomposed cow carcasses were discovered at a municipal dumping site near Badabagh. Disturbing videos showing rotting remains scattered across the area quickly went viral on social media, triggering anger among local residents, animal welfare groups, and gau rakshaks, who accused authorities of negligence and failure to ensure proper disposal and cattle protection.

Following the public outrage, District Collector Anupama Jorwal ordered an immediate investigation into the incident and directed officials to submit a detailed report. Authorities also issued a notice to the municipal contractor responsible for carcass disposal operations. Officials stated that the carcasses had accumulated over several weeks and claimed that most of the cattle had died due to natural causes.
