Protesters also torched the Nepali Congress party’s central office in Lalitpur .Tragically, former Prime Minister Jhalanath Khanal’s wife, Rajyalaxmi Chitrakar, died after their house was set alight. Additionally, Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel was reportedly chased, beaten, and stripped by protesters. The unrest has tragically resulted in at least 19 fatalities and over 400 injuries, prompting appeals for restraint and dialogue from the Nepali Army, security chiefs, and President Paudel.
