News Desk - Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay used his first Assembly address to reiterate the state’s long-standing opposition to NEET and its firm support for the two-language policy.

Vijay said NEET “creates inequality” and argued that the medical entrance exam disadvantages students, especially those from rural and state-board backgrounds, adding that admissions should instead be based on Class 12 marks. He also linked his criticism to concerns over exam fairness and alleged irregularities, saying the system needs to be removed rather than reformed.

On the language issue, Vijay made it clear that Tamil Nadu will continue with its two-language formula of Tamil and English and will not accept any form of language imposition. He said the state’s position has not changed and defended the policy as sufficient for both regional identity and wider communication.

Vijay’s speech signals that NEET and language policy will remain major political flashpoints in Tamil Nadu, with the new government taking a hard line on both issues.
