Ranit Kr. Singh , Mumbai — The ongoing investigation into sexual harassment allegations at a Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) associated BPO unit in Nashik intensified on Thursday following new revelations from the Special Investigation Team (SIT) chargesheet. A 23-year-old female employee has alleged that co-workers subjected her to systematic religious coercion alongside sexual exploitation. The Maharashtra government previously established the SIT after multiple women employees came forward with allegations of molestation, mental harassment, and forced religious conversion within the company's regional operations.

According to the chargesheet, prime accused Danish Shaikh allegedly exploited the complainant under a false promise of marriage while systematically pressuring her to abandon her Hindu faith. Shaikh and co-accused Nida Khan reportedly used digital platforms, religious discourses by controversial preachers, and workplace WhatsApp groups to influence employees, forcing them to observe Islamic traditions and fasts. 

The matter surfaced after the victim's family noticed her wearing a hijab, prompting a police response that included deploying undercover women officers disguised as housekeeping staff to uncover a broader pattern of misconduct at the facility.A Nashik court has postponed the bail hearings for the accused individuals to June 12. Commenting on the initial breakthrough in the investigation, Nashik Police Commissioner Sandeep Karnik stated, "Since she was afraid to lodge a complaint, our team reached out to her and gave her the courage to do it."
