Desk Correspondent , Agartala - The tragic death of a young student from Tripura has ignited a heated debate over racial discrimination and safety after his family claimed he was targeted with ethnic slurs. According to the grieving family, the student was repeatedly harassed and called "Chinese" by a group of individuals shortly before his untimely demise. They believe that this psychological pressure and targeted bullying played a significant role in the events leading to his death, prompting them to demand a high-level investigation into the matter to ensure justice for their son.

However, the local police have maintained a different stance following their preliminary investigation into the case. Authorities stated that while the death is being treated with the utmost seriousness, they have yet to find any concrete evidence or witness accounts that prove racial abuse took place. They emphasized that their probe is currently focused on all possible angles, including personal disputes or accidental causes, and urged the public not to spread unverified rumors that could disturb communal harmony while the legal process continues.

The incident has triggered widespread concern among student bodies and civil society groups who are calling for stricter anti-bullying measures in educational hubs. Protests have been organized in parts of the state, with activists highlighting the vulnerability of students from the Northeast when living in different regions. As the police await the final forensic and autopsy reports, the community remains on edge, hoping that the investigation will provide clear answers and address the serious allegations of racism raised by the bereaved family.
