Bengaluru, Aug 15 – At least ten people were injured following a sudden explosion in Bengaluru’s Wilson Garden area on Thursday. The blast, which occurred in a residential locality, also led to the collapse of three houses, officials said.
Initial reports from the fire department suggest that a suspected gas cylinder leak may have caused the explosion. Residents in the vicinity reported hearing a loud noise, followed by heavy smoke and debris. Emergency services rushed to the scene, rescuing those trapped under the damaged structures.
All injured individuals were taken to nearby hospitals for treatment. Authorities have not yet disclosed the severity of their conditions.
Police have cordoned off the area, and forensic teams are examining the site to determine the exact cause. Officials said a detailed investigation is underway to rule out any foul play.
The incident has raised safety concerns over domestic gas usage and infrastructure in densely populated neighbourhoods of the city. Authorities have urged residents to ensure proper maintenance of household gas connections to avoid similar accidents.
