Speaking on Star Sports, former CSK star Suresh Raina revealed an emotional conversation he had with Dhoni during the lap of honour. Raina told Dhoni that IPL 2026 should not count as a farewell season because he did not play a single match. He urged the former captain to return next year. However, Dhoni replied quietly, saying, “My body is a little weak.” Raina admitted that Dhoni did not completely rule out a comeback and responded with a hopeful “let me see,” giving CSK fans a small reason to believe he might return for IPL 2027.
