Modi Likely to Meet Trump on G7 Summit Sidelines in France

Swapna Kumbar , Bengaluru -  Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to meet U.S. President Donald Trump during his upcoming visit to France for the G7 Summit, in what could be one of the most closely watched diplomatic engagements of the year. The meeting comes amid growing cooperation between India and the United States on trade, defense, technology, and regional security issues.

According to reports, Modi's visit to France will be conducted in two phases, with the first leg scheduled from June 13 to June 14 and the second from June 16 to June 19. During the visit, the Prime Minister is expected to hold extensive discussions with French President Emmanuel Macron on June 14, focusing on strategic partnerships, defense cooperation, climate initiatives, and economic collaboration. France remains one of India's key partners in Europe, with both nations sharing strong ties across multiple sectors.

On the sidelines of the G7 Summit, Modi is also expected to meet President Trump. The potential meeting is likely to focus on bilateral trade, investment, defense cooperation, emerging technologies, and regional geopolitical developments. The talks come at a time when both countries are seeking to deepen collaboration in critical sectors while addressing global challenges ranging from economic uncertainty to security concerns. Analysts believe the meeting could further strengthen the India-U.S. strategic partnership and provide momentum for future cooperation.

The expected Modi-Trump meeting highlights India's growing diplomatic influence on the global stage and underscores the importance of India-U.S. relations in shaping regional and international affairs. Alongside his engagements with France and other world leaders, the Prime Minister's visit is expected to reinforce India's role as a key player in global diplomacy and economic cooperation.
