A man from Ranchi was detained by police in Puri after he attempted to climb the Shree Jagannath Temple on Friday. The incident created tension in the temple premises as devotees and security personnel noticed the man trying to scale the outer walls.
According to officials, temple security quickly intervened and prevented him from entering restricted areas. He was taken into custody and handed over to the police for questioning. The man’s intentions are still being investigated, though initial reports suggest he may have acted out of personal reasons rather than any organized plan.
The Shree Jagannath Temple is one of the most revered shrines in Odisha, attracting thousands of devotees daily. Authorities maintain strict security protocols to protect the sanctity of the site, and any such breach is treated seriously.
